What is this tapping noise? Lifter, flexplate, oil, or something else?

Im no guru, but it could be your tappets. perhaps put in a set of ear plugs - get the noise there and pop yr head under the hood - u should have more accurate hearing as to where the sounds coming from... on the older tappet engines they tended to go out after a while, could just be the extra clearance rattling about - . i think they're very easy to set if u have the experience - im sure u know half a dozen ppl who can - more chevy 350's in the states that coke cans in the world i think :)

The gears are probably stripped or damaged in some other way. Make sure the battery is good, but probably U will have to use the lens manually. Usually repair is very expensive if available at all.

at some point in life, we all take responsibility for our actions, if you traded a good running car for a pile of crap. you are legally stuck with this decision. The time to do anything, is before you made the trade. you had plenty of time to get the car checked out. Your other choice is not legal, Sometimes life is not fair, and you have to be smarter than the other guy.

Could I get a Job with Goldman Sachs?

Where are you getting your "facts" from...? And prop trading probably won't be a thing at the big banks by the time you get out of college (and I'm pretty sure GS shut down their prop trading a few months ago). If you go to Wharton you can probably land an i-banking or S&T gig at Goldman or some other Wall St bank, but you will have to get your GPA up to get into Wharton. Why is it just between Wharton and Rutgers? There are plenty of great schools back east that place well on Wall St. You said no links so I'll refrain from posting a link to the list of Wall St target schools, but if you Google "Finance target school" you should be able to find a decent list of schools that are a great stepping stone to no life and too much money :-) Good luck!
