Did such shops ever existed or still exist today?
While playing games and watching films regarding ancient and mideval times , we often come across the concept of magic shops or magic traders. Unlike the magic shops of today that sell illusionist material, these shops actually sale magic items that can really do magic e.g magic almanac , magical rings that can do limited magic etc. What cateches the eye however is the explicit description of these shops that is being shown in these games and movies. Let me give you an example, the characters of James Bond and captain kirk are both fictional, but james bond is more realistic because his character was written by an actual spy and infact spies like bond do exist in real life. The same goes if we compare Gabbar Singh and superman. The character of Gabbar singh is based upon actual dacoits and therefore its detail is very explanatory. This same kind of detail can be seen when magic shops/ traders/vendors are portrayed in films and games and this makes me wonder whether or not such shops actually existed. An example would be the magic shops and traders portrayed in the tradewinds series of video games. If such shops did ever exist or still exist today please give me further information.
